The announced positions are part of the DFG-funded project „Landscape evolution in the northeastern Iranian Plateau reconstructed from Late Pleistocene to Holocene sediment archives“.
The research project focuses on the reconstruction of landscape development in the highlands of Iran. Since the Late Pleistocene, neotectonics and climatic changes have shaped the present landscape and the range of geomorphological forms in the highlands. In the project, late Pleistocene and Holocene sedimentary archives and landforms such as playas or alluvial fans will be recorded for the first time. The data obtained will then be systematically evaluated for the reconstruction of environmental conditions and landscape development.
All details on the positions are available from the PDF files below (German/English).
