Within the DFG funded project Radiofluorescence dating (IR-RF): Towards a suitable dating method for quaternary sediments the Chair for Physical Geography (Prof. M. Fuchs), Department of Geography, Justus-Liebig-University of Giessen, Germany, offers a 3-year 100% Post-doc position on radiofluorescence dating of feldspars (IR-RF) applied to Quaternary sediments.
Payment will be according to ’Entgeltgruppe 13 Tarifvertrag Hessen (TV-H)’. This is equivalent to a
gross salary of 48 – 65 k€ per year, depending on previous experience. The candidate will further develop the technique of radiofluorescence (IR-RF) to establish a suitable dating method for
Quaternary sediments and will apply it to coarse grain K-feldspar and polymineral fine grain samples. Candidates should have a PhD in natural sciences, preferably in geosciences or physics and a
background in luminescence dating.
The position is open until filled. Please send your application as a single PDF file exclusively via Email to Prof. Markus Fuchs (markus.fuchs@geogr.uni-giessen.de).
